Community Parenting Workshops

PCP offers a variety of parenting workshops to enable parents to understand their child’s developmental stages and to develop strategies and skills that provide a strong foundation for learning and success in school. Classes offered will include:

Redirecting Children’s Behavior (TBA)

Participants in this parent’s only workshop will learn strategies and techniques that enable their children to develop self-esteem and problem solving skills.

Math and Science Together (TBA)

This workshop for parents and their child (three to five years) provides a fun introduction to math concepts and hands- on science experiments.

Reading and Writing Together (TBA)

This workshop for parents and their child (three to five years) provides fun and important read-aloud, pre-reading and writing skills and strategies to try together.

Kindergarten Readiness (TBA)

Parents have two options for participation in this workshop:

1. A two-session interactive workshop for parents and their soon-to-be kindergartener. Sessions focus on preparing the child for a successful kindergarten experience with ample time for parents to ask questions of their child’s school readiness.

2. A one-session workshop for parents only in which the materials from the two-session workshop will be presented and school readiness questions will be answered.
